Key Events Reported by Tenants: 1/31/06:
After a full hour and a half meeting with all the city agencies you can name and a full walk thru of all the property, a level A hazard was issued. What happened was as follows:

ECB, DOB, HPD NYPD NYFD all responded to tenant complaints. A limited evacuation was of made of only 63-28 and 63-30 Woodhaven Blvd they made sure that the Rep from the tenants alliance was on board with that before they moved. A city engineer came some 30 min later and advised it was sound judgment to keep the two building clear. Tenants were advised to take a change of clothes and lock the apartments up, close windows etc. FDNY personnel walked them in.

A bridge was put up and the issue of the chimney shored up so if it did fall it went out to the bridge and not in thru ceiling. Tenants were allowed in once city engineer gave an all clear.

The landlord was given 24 hours to get an engineer of his own to survey the property and submit a plan of action. He had until 2 PM 02/01/06; if he fails to comply, then the HPD and DOB will come to do the work. He was also ordered to repair the ENTIRE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING -- front, back, and sides -- and he was charged for the violations on all apartments and missing bridge. Meanwhile, the Chinese restaurant was also hit with several fire violations of its own.

The landlord sent his workers here to correct the issue with no equipment. They were told to leave.
