Shalom tenants are grateful for the active support offered by our allies.
Cooper Square Committee
This 501c3 tenant organization has actively supported the Shalom Tenants
Alliance by providing meeting space, the services of a tenant organizer,
and by serving as the "fiscal conduit" for grants and donations
we receive.
New York State Senator Liz Krueger
In addition to ongoing support and participation in our activitities,
Krueger initiated government investigations into the Shaloms' business
practices and in 2004 wrote a letter
supporting our Manhattan Delegation grant proposal..
Former City Council Member Margarita Lopez
In 2005 Lopez provided a $3000 grant to assist with our
organizing and defense efforts.
City Council Speaker Christine Quinn
In 2005 Quinn provided a $3000 grant to assist with our organizing and
defense efforts.
New York State Senator Thomas Duane
In addition to ongoing support and participation in Shalom Tenant Alliance
activitities and strong advocacy for individual Shalom tenants, Duane
organized a large-scale Shalom Tenants organizing meeting in the summer
of 2005.
Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer
In addition to ongoing support and participation in our activitities (including
making arrangements for meeting space), in 2005 Stringer wrote a letter
supporting our Manhattan Delegation grant proposal.
New York State Assembly Member Pete Grannis
In addition to ongoing support and participation in our activitities,
Grannis assigned dedicated resources to assist with key Shalom Tenants
Alliance actions.
New York State Assembly Member Jonathan Bing
In addition to ongoing support and participation in the Shalom Tenants
Alliance's activities, Bing has provided reliable and energetic support
to individual Shalom tenants and buildings.
Former Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields
In 2005, Fields's office has played a crucial role in assisting Shalom
tenants with individual building issues.
Former City Council Member Eva
Moskowitz
Since 2005 Moskowitz has actively participated in Shalom Tenants Alliance
organizing activitities, and she has been especially helpful to senior
Shalom tenants in her district.
Local 32BJ
This labor union representing building service workers was crucial in
early organizing efforts, particularly in Upper West Side and Harlem buildings.
Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum
Gotbaum was also crucial in early organizing efforts, particularly in
Upper West Side and Harlem buildings. In addition, she has been responsive
and actively helpful to tenants in individual Shalom buildings.

O'Donnell was very supportive in the Shalom Tenants Alliance's early organizing
efforts.
New York State Senator Eric Schneiderman
